Cool Toys
@ 13, he is no longer a little boy, but in his heart, there is still a desire for toys, once they are viewed as being “grown up”. There are a lot of different grown up/adult toys available, that I am pretty sure that he will not only appreciate it, but actually play with it.
Typically, you will find 13 year old boys playing with some of the more older Lego sets, remote control vehicles such as helicopters, cars and planes.
Legos
Legos were fun when he was a little kid, but being a teenager, can he still play with Legos? There are a bunch of Lego sets that are geared for boys who are in the 10-18 year old range.
Lego Technic – The Technic series is designed with the aim of creating more complex models such as machines, cars and planes. There is a lot of moving parts, as well as the use of electric motors. This is an interesting gift idea, especially if the boy likes to build things.
Lego Mindstorm – The Mindstorm series will allow the teen to create a variety of customizable programmable robots, all with the use of a variety of software and hardware. This is a pretty interesting “toy” as there is so much you can do with it. The Lego Mindstorm is really great gift for the teen that is creative and wants something challenging and cool to do.
Mini helicopters
The remote controlled mini helicopter is a pretty fun gift to give any 13 year old boy. There are varying levels of these copters, from the cheap $15 ones all the way to the fully functional $200+ ones that utilize gas.
RC Cars/Planes/Boats
Just like the helicopters, that 13-year old boy will have hours of fun with remote controlled vehicles such as cars, planes or boats. With these toys, you could introduce the boy to hobby that he might fall in love with and carry with him all the way into adulthood.
